Pineapples are a small shrub native to the Americas. Anana is the original native name meaning “excellent fruit” – much better than pineapple (an old English term for pinecone). Pineapples are rich in vitamins and minerals. They are especially high in vitamin C and manganese. They contain the anti inflammatory bromelain.
